Constituent Services
- I value accountability and accessibility and will provide both to the constituents of South Attleboro.
- Residents can count on returned phone calls and returned e-mails.
- I will offer monthly neighborhood meetings where constituents can come and talk about important issues facing the community.
- Ward 1 needs an open, honest, responsive and TRANSPARENT City Councilor who is constantly fighting for you and your family.
Public Safety
- If elected, I will work on bringing Rescue II back to a full time and fully staffed operation to provide full time safety to the residents of South Attleboro.
- Currently, Rescue II is operating on a “split shift” basis. This means that when a 911 call is received, the response, depending on paramedic availability, is from a ladder or Rescue 2. Residents of Ward 1 and Ward 2 deserve this because they have a right to Public Safety.
- I understand the fiscal constraints surrounded by this issue, I know it won't happen over night. It will be a goal for me, my constituents and the City of Attleboro.
A “Watch-Dog” for the Taxpayers
- I will be fiscally prudent voice on the City Council.
- I will not VOTE to narrow the Tax-Classification factor which increases taxes on the home owners.
- We are in hard economic times and Ward 1 needs a City Councilor who is going to read the budget line by line and make suggestions.
- I will offer a strong voice in these difficult economic times. I understand that raising City User Fees is not the knee jerk solution to a budget crisis. I will do whatever I can to oppose any unreasonable increase in trash, water and sewer rates.
- If there ever is a surplus in the City User Fees budget, I will initiate a decrease in those fees.
Attleboro High School
- Attleboro High School is in dire need of renovations and I as City Councilor will work with members of our State Legislature and the Massachusetts School Building Authority to obtain the funding we need to renovate our High School.
- I would like to work directly in the connection with the School Committee to make things happen. That includes making sure we are hiring the best possible staff and keeping our administrators in the City.
- Times are tough, I would not support a Proposition 2 and 1/2 override. Attleboro residents are strapped and they cant afford more taxes. THIS IS A PROMISE!
- We need the maintenance problems fixed, If the High School were to be broken out as separate projects of $5 or $6 million each, we could identify them, and decide to move forward on them.
- We are off to a great start by reparing the roof, but more needs to be done.
- I have the enthusiasm and the energy to work with officials to get things done.
Attleboro Redevelopment Authority
&
Industrial Business Park
- I will support projects that are accountable to the tax-payers.
- If tax-payer funded dollars are being used, we deserve to know how and when our money is being spent. Whether the project is using city or federal tax dollars.
- I support the new leadership of the ARA and them doing what they need to, to make the projects accountable to the tax-payers.
- I find it crucially important to bring New business into this city, the more business the larger the burden we can take off of our homeowners.
